Frostbite write up

Well Northern lights rolled down to Missoura this past friday for a tournament in Springfield, MO. I was in the first car to arrive, we pulled in at about 13oAM after encountering a couple of ground blizzards but ya know no big deal. We get into our motel room and its been left in a pretty big mess. We come in and we find a bunch of towles on the ground it looks like the towel rack had been ripped out after a big gay orgy of some sort, and then on the counter infront of the miror we found a white powdery substance there along with razor marks....from this we come to the conclusion that a bunch of coke-fags were in our room. Well the other cars rolled in a few hours later, we all end up getting only a few hours of sleep before we have to get up play possibly 5 games.

First game of the day we had Truman State Jiu JiTSU, we all came out really fired up and had the motto of put up or shut up ingrained in our tired little minds. we had a pretty decent down wind, this proved to be the bain of our existance. We go up 3 on these guys pretty quickly and don't really look back, we don't shut the door as quickly as we should have and we let them score a few when we should have been resting, final score is 8-13 so far a pretty good start to our weekend it was pretty positive we started to see our zone work.

Game 2 we played the 5 seed Missouri Rolla, not a great team pretty young and fun. there is no way this game should have gone to universe but once again we don't finish off a team and pay the price later on in the tournament. once again we jump out to a 3-0 lead and let a team get back into it. big highlight of this game is Starky's first Callahan. This team threw up a ton of swill and some how kept coming down with it, our cup looked good, we just really couldn't get them to throw it away, don't really remember who scored the final point.

We have our by now, take our time try to stretch and watch Rolla go to universe with Washington U the 1 seed in our pool. We get hydrated and try to take advantage of Washington U's long game.

Washington U good game for us I felt probably one of the best we played all weekend. we came out pretty strong work it up wind for the score. we go ahead and get a break right after that, Washington U scores on their next O-point, then they are able to break us back, they get pretty fired up we get more fired up and start putting up, sidelines were great in this game ho-stack worked really well, this is again another game that we don't finish cap goes on and we win 7-10 not a huge win but it does mean that we will not have to play a play-in game and we would be able to go back to the motel and rest

last game of the day was the Pimpdags, the wind really picked up and caused us a lot of problems especially once they through on there 4 man cup, we didn't really play well. we were pretty intimitaded and we fold, we looked tired, probably due to games going to cap so many times, and our 1st stringers playing way more points than they should have we lose 4-10. I draw this conclusion. just because you are a second string guy doesn't mean that you don't have to put out when you are on the field, you have to play your roll and try not to do too much once you are out there.

We go back to the hotel and most of us decided to hit up a Cici's, there was a pretty big line but we all got fed, Peter macked on some hot waitress and gave her his number, im not sure if she ever called.... after that go back to the hotel for some good ol' fashioned male bonding aka hot swetty coke-fag sex. some guys go on a liquer run and we all just kinda relax in eachothers rooms, Brett gets drunk cause it's his b-day on sunday later that night he will spill a beer or water on Deuce as well as hit him in the head with a beer bottle. The whole team is asleep well before midnight. we all wake up get some JIMMY DEAN sauges in our bellies and get ready for our first game of sunday.

Sunday prequarters: North Park. we played these guys last year and got embarassed so we were pretty pumped to play this game Jake went and requested observors which was a very interesting experience for all of us Jay I htink got ripped off on his foul call but what can you do. this another team we should have destroyed we get up on these guys fast but don't finish it was 8-5 when the cap went on game to 10, we take so long it goes to hard cap game to nine oh and did I mention we let them tie it up and take it to universe, luckily we get it on O, we have several turnovers in this point but the offense finally figures it out chills out and works it to the redzone where we get a Tros to Creature explosion FTW (for the win for you nubs out there.) at this point we have a really stiff cross wind our next opponent has been watching us getting some rest in.

Our next game is agaist North Texas a team we really wanted to see again after Mardi Gras...lets just say this game was a huge dissapointment. Our starters were gassed already after having played 5 games to cap 2 of them to universe. the closest this game ever was was 1-2 they rolled us it was a much more spirited game than the last one, I would really like to see this team when we are fresh, but that is just another excuse. the highlight of the tournament for me came against these guys, deep huck goes up to a guy that is about 6'-2" somebody didn't pick him up because there is no way I should be gaurding anyone that tall, anyways, he has a bout a 40yard headstart on me, luckily it floats, I can close the distance and get in there for the D, proof that Air Alert works. We lost this game 4-13 or something along those lines, and ended in a 4 way tie for 5th with Whitewater, Wash U, and I don't know who else. 4-2 on the weekend not a bad showing could have been better conditioning needs improvement, probablly shouldn't do lines of cocaine at the next hotel we stay in....next up Music City Tune up
